Welcome to "All The Things." This is the show where we discuss culturally relevant topics in light of the historic Christian worldview.

TALK TO US: Ask a question, send us feedback, or suggest a topic for an upcoming show by sending us an email.

"All The Things" live streams on YouTube and Facebook every Saturday at 6 PM (PT)/9 PM (ET). Audio replays can also be found on Apple Podcasts, Google Play and Spotify. Search for "theology mom."

We hope you'll tell a friend (or three). Give us some "share" love to help us spread the word about the show.

Segment #1: Area 51 Event

What started a few weeks ago as an internet joke now has over 1,000,000 RSVPs to storm Area 51 and "see them aliens." It has also spawned some pretty fantastic memes.

Approximately 50% of Americans believe that UFOs are real. So, we asked military intelligence expert, Dr. Mark Clark (Director of the National Security Studies program at CSUSB; Visiting Scholar at Reasons to Believe), to come on the show to give us "the real" about the alleged government cover up at Area 51. What should we make of UFO sightings? Are they real? And what is a Christian perspective on contactee experiences and alien encounters?

Dr. Clark is the co-author of the book, Lights in the Sky and Little Green Men, with Hugh Ross and Kenneth Samples from Reasons to Believe.

This tweet sparked a good conversation between Krista and Monique this week.

It got us wondering... We don't have all the answers. But we did share a few thoughts and questions.

If you'd like to deep a little deeper on this topic, here are a few resources to get your started.

  • Krista has put together a Facebook Note with some introductory ideas: "Progressive Theology, Social Justice and Critical (Race) Theory"

  • Krista also has a couple of videos on her YouTube channel related to this topic. (Krista recorded these near the beginning of her journey into these issues. But the major principles are still useful.)

Krista saw this tweet and it was just too cute not to include on the show.

Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit. Displaying kindness should be an evidence that God lives in His people. Christians should be known as the kindest people on the planet. BUT....we're often not.
